Introduction
The Galaxy S22+ sits between the entry-level Galaxy S22 and the top-of-the-line Galaxy S22 Ultra. It strikes a delicate balance in the lineup, offering just enough to start from the entry-level model, but not overshadowing its Ultra sibling.
It’s a great choice for customers who appreciate the extra features the Galaxy S22+ has to offer and aren’t willing to spend that much money on a high-end model. After all, the Galaxy S22+ is a great flagship in itself.
Design
Samsung hasn’t made any significant changes to the design. The Galaxy S22+ looks quite similar to its predecessor and that’s not exactly a bad thing. The device looks and feels quite premium thanks to its metal and glass build.
Specifications
Samsung’s 2022 flagships come with advanced 4nm chipsets that have an integrated 5G modem. Availability depends on the market. The Galaxy S22 will come with the Exynos 2200 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. The Exynos 2200 has its own mobile GPU, which Samsung collaborated with AMD on.
There is 8GB of RAM which can be paired with 128GB and 256GB of storage. It has a larger battery, 4,500 mAh to be exact, which supports up to 45W wired charging. There is also support for 15W wireless charging and Wireless PowerShare.
Display
The 6.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display has FHD+ resolution and an adaptive refresh rate of 120 Hz. This allows the panel to adjust the refresh rate from 10 to 120 Hz depending on the need.
It’s an effective way to extend battery life while providing super smooth viewing. The display can reach a maximum brightness of up to 1750 nits on the Galaxy S22+.
Camera
The Galaxy S22+ has exactly the same camera setup as the Galaxy S22. It features a 12-megapixel ultra-wide sensor with a 50-megapixel wide-angle sensor. There is a 10-megapixel telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. The front camera with a resolution of 10 megapixels ensures selfies.
Availability and Price
Pricing for the Galaxy S22+ starts at $999 with February 25, 2022, when it hits store shelves. Color options include Phantom White and Black with Green and Rose Gold. Exclusive color options available through Samsung.com include Graphite, Cream, Purple and Sky Blue.
